Food Flavor | Score : 4.33 out of 5

Everyone's taste buds are different. So I will describe food flavor based on details as often as possible to give you better insight about what to expect.

5 | The Riesling was superb. I don't usually drink Riesling but I'm so glad this bottle can be added to my expanding palate.

4 | Dumplings were the right combination of soft and flaky, and sweet chili sauce is always a win for me.

5 | Rainbow Trout by far outshined my entire meal, I was not ready to be wow-ed by the flavors and it coupled so excellently with the Riesling. It comes with a grilled lemon, DO NOT FORGET to squeeze lemon juice on your trout. When I mentioned the change in flavor to the server she said oh yes the lemon opens up the flavor...I said no, Jennifer, it bust the flavor wide open 😏.

4 | Mashed potatoes were fluffy and buttery, the carrots and green beans were a steamed texture. So more crunch than mush, it all flavored well with the Rainbow Trout.

3 | Flatbread in comparison to the rest of the meal was good but it wasn't the star of the show. Also I'm not a Flatbread / Thin crust fan. That being said I was not disappointed in the flavor .

5 | Brussel Sprouts from Vino & Vinyl are a worthy runner up for best on my plate. For vegetarians and veggie lovers this side dish is filling and the flavors will make carnivores forget they like meat... if only for a moment 😏.

Food Quality / Authenticity | Score : 5 out of 5

A category for gauging expectations versus execution.

Based on the location and the vibe of the restaurant I was expecting good flavors coupled with a decent wine selection and instead I got great.

Service |  Score : 5 out of 5

The process of service and the quality of service.

The service was great. Servers were hospitality conversationalist without being too chatty. They also had suggestions that were helpful, kept our glasses filled consistently and didn't mess up the order.

Ambience | Score : 5 out of 5

The overall vibe of the environment.

Dimly lit with a variety of tunes played on vinyl. Loud enough to jam to, but not so loud that you can't have a conversation. They won extra cool points for playing Sade.

Parking | Score : 5 out of 5

The process of parking, convenience, and cost.

You can pay for parking closer to the venue but there is a free parking deck that is just a little further, while still being within the confines of City Walk SLTX.

Safety | Score : 5 out of 5

Did the environment feel safe (both location and parking lot)

City walk is a very family-oriented location with a substantial police presence as an added precaution. City Walk SLTX is one of the safest places to visit in the area while having a good time.

Solo Factor | Score : 10 out of 10

Great place to enjoy alone, but it also might make you wish you just stayed at home and listened to records while sipping wine so you can be comfortable and let loose. But if you want to get out of the house and enjoy a mellow vibe while listening to music wrapped in the warm crisp sound of vinyl, this is the place.

Entourage Factor | Score : 7 out of 10

The space is not large so a small group of your favorite people is suggested. Or just your favorite person.

Portions for price | Score : 7 out of 10

The appetizers are on par with the size provided at most restaurants. The entrée was portioned respectably, but is unlikely that you will find yourself taking leftovers home. The good thing is the flavors will have you satisfied with price and portion for the ambient experience.

Creativity / Uniqueness | Score : 10 of 10

From the name showing off its alliteration with V's in both names, to the trade off of digital music for a vinyl playlist. It was a vibe I hadn't yet enjoyed until I came across Vino & Vinyl. So as the trailblazers to this feeling, they get a 10 off general purpose.

MAIN RATING : 4.89 out of 5

BONUS RATING : 8.5 out of 10

WHAT WILL BRING ME BACK EVERY TIME :

If you couldn't already tell, it was that Rainbow Trout. I wish I had ordered one to go 😩.
